Tri-City begins the month of November with the first of an eight game home stand. The Americans finished the month of October 8-3-1-1, including a 5-0-1 road trip through the East Division. The Americans come into this game after being shutout for the first time this season 6-0 at Portland. Eric Comrie allowed three goals in the first ten minutes of the game, allowing Brenden Fiebelkorn to see his first action this season. He gave up three goals in 51 minutes of work. Everett comes into the game having lost three straight, the most recent a 5-2 loss against the Winterhawks. This will be the first game where Ryan Chynoweth will see his old team, but won’t be playing due to an injury. Tri-City has dominated the Silvertips this season, winning all three of the meetings this season. The Ams earned their first home win during their first meeting in Kennewick 3-1, and won the next two in Everett, including Eric Comrie’s first shutout of the season on Oct. 3.
Players to Watch
Everett:
D Ryan Murray: The second overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft returns to the Silvertips as a 19-year-old and leads the team in points with 15 and assists with 13.
C Manraj Hayer: The third leading scorer for the Silvertips has five goals and eight assists this season, including the lone short-handed goal against the Americans in the first meeting of the season.
Tri-City:
C Connor Rankin: The C-rated skater on the 2013 Preliminary Draft Rankings had five goals and an assist on the East Canada road trip and is second on the team in points.
C Marcus Messier: Messier had a goal and an assist in the most recent home loss to Spokane and had four goals and two assists in October.
Keys to the Game
Bounce Back: Both teams come into this game with a three game losing streak and a loss on the road at Portland.
Generating Chances: The Americans were shut down against Portland, only having 15 shots on goal including two in the third period. The team generated few scoring chances and couldn’t stop Portland from getting off to a fast start in the first period.
