Sunday Highlights: Battalion win HWY 17 battle

A quiet Sunday afternoon saw just three games on the schedule. The Ottawa 67’s, North Bay Battalion and Niagara IceDogs all skated to victory.

Here’s a look at what happened.

After dropping a 3-2 decision to the Wolves in Sudbury on Wednesday, the North Bay Battalion fired back on home ice. Marcus McIvor, Mathew Santos and Miles Liberati each scored a goal and an assist to silence the Wolves in a 5-2 win. Watch

The Ottawa 67’s kept pace with the Battalion by defeating Lawson Crouse and the visiting Frontenacs 3-0 on Sportsnet. Liam Herbst stopped all 16 shots he faced for his second shutout of the season. Sam Studnicka, Nathan Todd and Ben Fanjoy scored for Ottawa. Watch

The Windsor Spitfires failed to gain any ground on the idle Saginaw Spirit, dropping a 3-1 decision to the visiting Niagara IceDogs. Former Spitfires Jordan Maletta and Josh Ho-Sang led the way for Niagara as the Dogs picked up their 26th win of the season. Watch
