Maple Leafs Return Colaiacovo to Erie

The Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League announced this afternoon that they have reassigned Carlo Colaiacovo to the ERIE OTTERS of the Ontario Hockey League.

The veteran defenseman spent the first 18 games of the OHL season with the Leafs where he registered an assist in two games. Colaiacovo was selected 17th overall by the Leafs in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. The 19 year-old from Toronto, Ontario has played three seasons and 174 games with the OTTERS collecting a franchise record (for defensemen) 29 goals and 72 assists for 101 points.

Colaiacovo is scheduled to arrive in ERIE Tuesday and be in the line up when the OTTERS kick off a four-game home stand Friday night against the Brampton Battalion.
