OHL Mourns the Loss of Joe Pelesh

The Ontario Hockey League is mourning the loss of a familiar voice as long-time London Knights off-ice official and public address announcer Joe Pelesh passed away on Tuesday in his 90th year.

An iconic voice at the London Ice House, also known as the London Gardens and Treasure Island Gardens throughout the Knights’ tenure in the building until 2002, Pelesh served 41 years as a time-keeper and PA announcer.

Outside of his involvement with the OHL, Joe served as a highly respected district manager for Fina/Petro Canada until his retirement, enjoyed spending time on the golf course, and was a devoted fan of the Boston Bruins.

The OHL extends condolences to Joe’s family and friends as they mourn the loss of a man who remains a big part of the League’s history in London, impacting the lives of many along the way.
