Rogers Performers of the Month – February
Rafael Rotter-Rogers Performer of the Month and nominee for OHL Performer of the Month
Rotter was named the Rogers Performer of the Month for the second consecutive month after tying his January totals. The 20 year old recorded the most points of any Storm player with 14, six goals-including one game winner- and 8 assists, in 13 games during the month of February. Rotter recorded at least one point in all but two games during the month, had three multiple point games and was awarded with two second and third star honours for his play.
In 62 games played this year, the Austrian native leads his team points (53), assists (41) and penalty minutes (101).
Thomas McCollum –
McCollum was named the Rogers Goaltender of the Month after posting a 6-4 record, along with a 1.97 goals against average and 0.912 save percentage in 11 games played during the month of February. The Sanborn New York native recorded his fourth shutout of the season during the first game of the month in a 3-0 win over the Sarnia Sting.
The 18-year old netminder was awarded with four first star honours and one third star honour during the month of February and was named ADT CHL Goaltender of the week for the week ending February 6th.
McCollum is now 22-16-3-3 on the season with four shutouts and a goals against average of 2.49 and a save percentage of 0.912. He currently sits third in the league for goals against average as well as shutouts (4) and 10th in save percentage.
Mike Caruso- Rogers Defenceman of the Month and nominee for OHL Defenceman of the Month
Storm assistant captain Mike Caruso was named the Rogers Defenceman of the Month for February. The 19 year old recorded five points, one goal-including a game winner- and four assists, in 13 games during the month of February. Perhaps his most impressive stat for the month was his plus/minus rating of +10. Caruso led all Storm players in that area during the month of February and currently leads the team overall with +20.
