Prior to last month, the record for most hits in a day was 88,241 set on April 2, 2000. That mark was surpassed four times in the last week of March.

"Our objective with the website was to develop the opportunity for fans to follow the team on a day-to-day basis," said team President Mike Griffin. "We could not have envisioned that we would be this successful in terms of creating interest and our next hope is that that interest generates ticket sales."
