Streaking Rockets Win Eighth Straight 6-3 in Moose Jaw

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors 6-3 on Wednesday night in Moose Jaw, winning its eighth straight game and improving to a Western Hockey League best 24-3-0-2 on the season.
The Rockets jumped out to a 4-0 lead midway through the game, before the Warriors scored three straight to cut the Rockets lead to just one in the third period.
But Carter Rigby and Ryan Olsen scored in the third to restore the Rockets lead and give the team a 6-3 win.
Myles Bell scored twice while Nick Merkley and Damon Severson also scored for the Rockets.
Jordon Cooke earned the win in net improving to 18-1-0-2 on the season.
The win moves the Rockets into sole possession of first overall in the WHL. The team has won eight straight and 17 of its past 18 WHL contests.
Kelowna will now have a day off on its WHL Eastern Conference road swing which opened on Tuesday with a 4-2 win in Swift Current.
The Rockets next meet Brandon on Friday night and will also play Regina (Saturday), Prince Albert (Sunday) and Saskatoon (Tuesday) before the team’s Christmas break.
The Rockets next home action is Dec. 27 against Kamloops.
