Rockets Rookie D-men Impressing at Training Camp

Jesse Lees and Madison Bowey know the step up to major junior hockey won’t be a simple one.
That’s why the two rookie blue liners left nothing to chance when it came to being prepared for their rookie campaign with the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets.
Lees and Bowey put in their hardest working summers yet, adding both speed and size to their already solid repertoire of skills.
And no one is more pleased to see the results than the Rockets’ coaching staff.
“They obviously put the work in this summer and they’re both a lot stronger and faster,” said Rockets assistant coach Dan Lambert. “I think we’re expecting them to step in our lineup and be quality young men. I can’t speak enough of them in that they really worked hard in the summer and that makes the coaching staff very happy because it’s not always the case with young kids…but these kids are committed.”
