Rocket Recap: Rockets launch past Silvertips
The Kelowna Rockets picked up their second win of the season with a commanding 5-1 victory over the Everett Silvertips Saturday night at Prospera Place.
Five different players found the back of the net for the Rockets while goaltender Roman Basran stopped 26 shots to lift the team to victory.
Defenceman Jake Lee (1) netted his first goal in a Rockets uniform to give the Rockets a 1-0 lead with the lone goal of the first period.
Kelowna’s offence then exploded in the second period with three goals from three different players. Kyle Topping (3) scored his third goal in as many games to extend the lead 2:16 into the period, Pavel Novak picked up his first regular-season point with an assist on the goal. Less than 60 seconds later, Trevor Wong (1) pounced on a puck in front of the net to add to the lead. Liam Kindree (1) extended the Rockets lead to four with a power-play tally just before the end of the middle stanza.

Rookie goaltender Keegan Karki replaced starter Dustin Wolf in net for Everett to start the third period. Jackson Berezowski (2) dashed Basran’s shutout bid midway through the final twenty minutes. Sean Comrie (1) reestablished the Rockets four-goal lead in the dying seconds of the game with his first Western Hockey League goal.

Kelowna won’t face the Silvertips again until January 17, 2020, at the Angel of the Winds Arena.
The Rockets record is now 2-0-1-0.
Kelowna will wrap up their three-game weekend with a 4:00 pm matchup against the Vancouver Giants in Langley tomorrow.
