Rockets Goulbourne Out After Laceration
Kelowna Rockets president/GM Bruce Hamilton has announced that Rockets forward Tyrell Goulbourne is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to repair a laceration to his calf, suffered Friday night.
Goulbourne underwent successful surgery at Kelowna General Hospital on Friday night and is expected to make a full recovery.
The 20-year-old had his calf muscle cut by a skate, after he went into the boards with a Portland player during game five of the WHL Western Conference Final.
“It’s a big loss for our club but we are pleased Tyrell will make a full recovery,” said Hamilton. “I’d like to thank the work of our team doctors and the team at Kelowna General Hospital for their exceptional work.”
Goulbourne will be re-evaluated by doctors on a week by week basis and it’s uncertain how long he will be out of the line-up at this point.
Meanwhile the WHL Western Conference final between Kelowna and Portland continues Sunday (5 p.m.) in Portland with the Rockets leading three games to two.
