Cougars Edge Rockets 2-1 at Prospera Place
The Prince George Cougars defeated the Kelowna Rockets 2-1 on Friday night at Prospera Place, snapping the Rockets three game winning streak in the process.
Cougars forward Brogan O’Brien snapped a 1-1 tie with the winning goal midway through the third period, dropping the Rockets record to 9-5-0-0 on the season.
The team’s exchanged goals through the first fourty minutes with the Cougars taking the lead on a shorthanded marker in the first period before the Rockets tied it in the second.
Cole Linaker scored his fifth of the season to make the score 1-1 entering the third period of play. Jackson Whistle suffered the loss in net as the Rockets outshot Prince George 31-20.
Kelowna is back in action on Saturday night at Prospera Place in the team’s annual Halloween Scramble, hosting the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
