Pre-Game: Rockets and Hurricanes in Kelowna
The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-3 Saturday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna.
Tyson Barrie scored twice, added an assist and played a ton of minutes on defense to lead the Rockets to the victory.
Kelowna led 2-1 after the first and 3-2 after two periods before scoring twice in the third period to put the game away.
With Kelowna leading 4-2 in the third period, it appeared as if the Hurricanes had climbed to within a goal. What looked like a goal was waved off and the Hurricanes were penalized on the play as the linesman called a spearing penalty on a Canes forward. The Rockets capitalized, with a power play goal from Geordie Wudrick.
Zach Franko and Spencer Main also scored for the Rockets.

The Rockets jumped out to a 2-0 lead with quick goals in the first period by Barrie and Franko. Both goals came on nifty passing plays. Shane McColgan and Mitchell Callahan set-up Barrie, while Colton Sissons and Damon Severson combined to set up Franko for his 18th.
Daniel Johnston, Mitch Maxwell and Jacob Berglund scored for the Hurricanes.
The Rockets power play was 3-for-4 on the night.
Kelowna is back in action on Wednesday night when the Tri City Americans come to town.
