Cooke wins WHL Goalie of the Month
November 1st, 2013 – Kelowna, BC
The Western Hockey League announced today that Jordon Cooke of the Kelowna Rockets has been named the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for September/October 2013.
The 20-year-old netminder posted an impressive 8-0-0-2 record with one shutout through 10 appearances in September and October, allowing just 19 goals on 312 shots for a 1.85 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage in that span. Cooke started 10 of the Rockets’ 13 games through September and October, holding the opposition to two goals or fewer in seven of those 10 appearances.
Cooke’s strong play helped the Rockets to a 9-2-0-2 record through September and October, putting them in first place in the B.C. Division. His efforts saw Cooke selected among the Three Stars five times in his 10 games, including being named the 1st Star on three occasions.
Cooke, a product of Leduc, AB, is currently in his fourth and final WHL season with the Rockets, having posted a 61-27-4-6 record with a 2.61 GAA and a .914 save percentage over 108 career regular-season games. He was selected by the Rockets in the fourth round, 79th overall, in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft.
His accomplishments make Jordon Cooke a deserving choice as the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for September/October.
