Bulmer on Scoresheet in First World Junior Red-White Game

Kelowna Rockets forward Brett Bulmer notched an assist in a 3-2 win by Team White in the first Red-White scrimmage at the Team Canada World Junior Selection Camp.
Bulmer set up the Phillip Di Giuseppe of the University of Michigan for Team White’s first goal of the game. Michael Ferland of the Brandon Wheat Kings and Christian Thomas of the Oshawa Generals also scored for Team White in front of 1,419 fans at the WinSport rink in Calgary.
Devante Smith-Pelly of the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks and Freddie Hamilton of the Niagara IceDogs replied for Red.
In net, both teams featured two netminders as Medicine Hat Tigers goaltender Tyler Bunz stopped 14-of-15 shots for White before being relieved by Scott Wedgewood of the Plymouth Whalers who faced 23 shots and gave up a single goal.
For Red, Mark Visentin of the Niagara IceDogs stopped 11-of-12 shots while Louis Domingue of the Quebec Remparts gave up two goals on 16 shots.
A second intra-squad game is scheduled for Monday night before the first round of cuts is made the following morning.
Canada will face a team of university all-stars Tuesday and the 22-player team is expected to be named Wednesday.
