McColgan to Play in Rangers NHL Exhibition Opener
It didn’t take long for Kelowna Rockets forward Brett Bulmer to hit the scoresheet for the Minnesota Wild.
Bulmer was in the lineup last night as the Wild played in Edmonton in NHL exhibition play and earned a helper on a first period power play goal.
The 19-year-old had one assist in over 15 minutes of total ice time with the Wild as Minnesota beat Edmonton 4-3.
Bulmer is in his second pro camp after being drafted by the Wild in 2010.
Rockets forward Shane McColgan will play tonigth for the New York Rangers against New Jersey.
The 18-year-old McColgan is at his first pro hockey camp after being drafted by the Rangers this off-season.
Meanwhile former Rockets player Evan Bloodoff scored a goal for Phoenix Tuesday as the Coyotes beat Anaheim 7-4 in NHL pre-season play. Fellow alumn Colin Long also played for Phoenix and was plus-one in over 10 minutes of ice time.
Back in Kelowna the Rockets are getting set for their season opener Sept. 24 in Everett. It’s the team’s only game of the weekend.
