Barrie sets Rockets record

r Tyson Barrie scored the shootout winner and added two goals in regulation as the Kelowna Rockets defeated the Prince George Cougars 4-3 in a shootout Friday night at Prospera Place.

r Barrie became the Rockets all time leading scorer amongst defenceman, surpassing Josh Gorges with the effort which included a shootout goal, an unassisted marker and a power play goal.

r "It's pretty cool. I've been fortunate to play on some really good teams. It's nice to be up there with some of the guys that have played defense here," said Barrie.

r With the two goals Barrie, a Victoria native, now has 153 all time points, passing Gorges total of 152.
r
r Shooting first in the shootout, Barrie made a spectacular move, deking to his forehand and roofing the puck high into the net. Earlier he had scored an unassisted, shorthanded marker and added a power play goal as well.

r The shootout goal was one that had fans buzzing.

r "I've actually been struggling in the past couple shootouts but that's one I go to so I thought I would try it."

r The Rockets are back on the ice tomorrow night against Medicine Hat at 7 p.m. at Prospera Place and also play Sunday in Seattle (5 p.m.)
