Rockets Support Smile Cookie Day
Rockets players were out in the community today in West Kelowna at the Tim Hortons for Smile Cookie day.
The boys came out, made some smiles on the cookies to give away, and signed autographs for fans.
The smile cookies they were making are available at any Tim Hortons for only $1.
Team captain Rodney Southam was happy to help when asked.
“It’s good to be out here making cookies, and it’s good to be back. This is the first event of the year. I know last year I actually did quite a few promotions and stuff like that and it’s a good feeling.”
The fans that came out were excited to see them there as well.
“It’s fun, and there are usually a lot of kids out. Everybody comes out to support us, so the least we can do is get back out there and support them and support the people and establishments of Kelowna. And it’s supporting a great cause” said Southam.
When you purchase a Smile Cookie, your $1 goes to help support local charities like hospitals, food banks and children’s programs. The proceeds from every Smile Cookie sold will help support hundreds of charities across Canada. All the proceeds for the Kelowna and West Kelowna area will go towards the Kelowna YMCA – Strong Kids Campaign.
The smile cookie event runs from September 12 – September 18 so make sure you get yours before it’s too late!
