Prospect Update
Multiple Kelowna Rockets prospects regular seasons wrapped up this past weekend with the BC Major Midget League rounding out their schedule. Trevor Wong, Steel Quiring and Jackson Desouza are now gearing up for postseason runs with their clubs.
Trevor Wong lead the way in scoring amongst the trio of Rockets prospects. The centreman for the Greater Vancouver Canadians had 42 points (12G, 30A) in 34 games played. Wong was the Rockets first-round selection (18th overall) at the WHL Bantam Draft last May. The centre has suited up in four WHL games this season, picking up an electrifying game-tying goal against the Kamloops Blazers earlier this season. The Canadians will open their playoffs against the Cariboo Cougars.

Steel Quiring was only a point behind Wong in scoring with 41 (15G, 26A) in 35 games with the Okanagan Rockets. The forward was the Rockets 5th round selection (89th overall) at the 2018 Bantam Draft. Quiring has dressed in two games with the Rockets this season.
Jackson DeSouza, Quiring’s teammate with the Okanagan Rockets, had 14 points (1G, 13A) and 43 penalty minutes in 37 games while patrolling the blueline. The Colorado product was drafted in the 4th round (84th overall) at the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. The 6’2, 170 pound defender joined the team for their annual road trip ahead of the Christmas break, he has jumped into two games with the WHL Rockets this season. DeSouza was named the Okanagan Rockets BCCA Hardest Working Player for February.
The Okanagan Rockets will face the Thompson Blazers in the opening round of the playoffs.
Quiring and Wong both played for Team BC at the 2019 Canada Games in Red Deer last month. Wong tied for seventh in tournament scoring with 10 points (3G, 7A) in seven games played while Quiring picked up two assists.
