The Kelowna Rockets play their third and fourth straight games against the Kamloops Blazers this Friday and Saturday when they take on each other. It’s the second of three straight weekends that the Rockets will face the Blazers in home and home series matchups.
Kelowna will host Kamloops Friday at Prosepra Place at 7:05 pm, they’ll then head to the Sandman Centre in Kamloops to play at 7:00 pm on Saturday.
The two were last in action against each other last weekend in a home and home series.
In Saturday’s game, the Rockets came back from a two-goal deficit to force a twelve round shootout that saw the Kamloops Blazers win 4-3 on a goal the 24th shooter on Saturday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna, BC. It was a speciality teams affair, with five of the six goals scored in the game coming on the power play. Kamloops held a two-goal lead after twenty minutes of play, but the Rockets responded with a power play goal from Andrew Cristall in the second period. Daylan Kuefler netted his third of the game in the third, but the Rockets charged back with goals from Colton Dach and Adam Kydd. The game went to a shootout, where Drew Englot won the game in the 12th round.
Kamloops has climbed up to sixth in the Kia CHL Top-10 Rankings for March 15th, 2o22.

ROCKETS TO WATCH
- Forward Adam Kydd had three points in last weekend’s games against the Blazers, including a goal and an assist on Saturday. Since being acquired from the Hitmen in January, Kydd has posted 21 points (9G, 12A), a +9 plus/minus rating and 10 penalty minutes through 25 games.
- While defenceman Jackson DeSouza doesn’t rack up the points every game, he’s often tasked with some of the toughest minutes, eating up penalty minutes nonstop for the team. Look for the steady 6’4 defender to sacrifice his body and block shots when need be.
