Sam Sedley becomes new top-scoring defenceman in Attack franchise history
Sam Sedley made Owen Sound Attack history on Tuesday, passing Santino Centorame as the franchise’s all-time top-scoring blueliner.
The 20-year-old from St. Marys, Ont. chipped in with an assist on Colby Barlow’s first goal of the night 7:01 into the first period of a 2-1 overtime victory over the Oshawa Generals, giving him 158 career points to set the new benchmark.
A former fourth-round pick by Owen Sound in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, Sedley leads the Attack defence corps with 53 points (9-44–53) in 48 games this season, three shy of last year’s career-high of 56 (7-49–56). The 5-foot-11, 192Ib. defender is in his fourth season with the Bears, with career totals including 21 goals, 137 assists and 158 points over 220 regular season games.
An assistant captain with the Attack, Sedley attended training camp with the Philadelphia Flyers last September.
